There are all kinds of products on the market that claim to be low in fat and perfect for dieters. The problem with many of them is the fact that they contain large amounts of sugar.
In order to make them tasty without adding fat, they add things like molasses, corn syrup, and sugar. While it might make things more palatable, this will wreak havoc on those who are trying to cut down on sweets.
2. Put The Soft Drinks Down:
Many people get a large bulk of their sugars from drinking beverages that are high in sugar. Soft drinks are the number one culprit, which means they need to be eliminated.
Instead of reaching for the bubbly beverage, try drinking unflavored sparkling water with a few slices of citrus. This will give you the acid you are craving without all the extra sugar you are trying to stay away from.
Try to avoid reaching for diet soft drinks, even though this seems like the most obvious alternative. Research has shown that consuming too many artificial sweeteners will make your cravings for sugar stronger, and that is the opposite of what you are trying to do.
3. Eat Fresh Fruit:
Everything in moderation is good and this applies to fruit as well. People who are trying hard to stay away from sugar should probably avoid binging on fruit, but this is a better idea than eating things like donuts, cakes, and pies.
The idea is to limit your intake and eat it whenever you have a craving for sweets. For example, eating a few grapes may satisfy your sweet tooth the next time you are craving something decadent.
Keep in mind that it is okay to buy frozen fruit, but make sure you choose those varieties that are unsweetened. Something packed in a sweet syrup would defeat the purpose.
